Industrial Photography at RHF Fans

RHF Fans, a leading UK manufacturer of industrial fans and ventilation systems, commissioned me to create a series of photographs to demonstrate the various stages of their manufacturing process. The imagery needed to showcase not only the scale of the operation but also the precision and craftsmanship behind each product.

The photographs would form part of their marketing collateral — helping RHF communicate their expertise, quality, and heritage as a trusted British manufacturer.

The approach

The goal was to tell a visual story of manufacture from start to finish. After and initial recce the week before, I worked closely with the team on site, documenting:

  • Raw materials and preparation – Sheets of steel and components being selected and prepared.

  • Fabrication – skilled engineers cutting, welding, and shaping parts with precision.

  • Assembly – the gradual build-up of fan units, capturing both the scale of the machinery and the hands-on craftsmanship.

  • Finishing touches – Powder-coating, testing, and quality checks ensuring the final product meets RHF’s high standards.

I used a mix of wide shots to capture the size and environment of the factory, and close-up detail shots to highlight textures, sparks, and human skill at work.

Lighting was carefully balanced to retain the industrial atmosphere while still keeping the images clear and striking

“Very happy with the images captured by Paul in very difficult conditions during the heatwave.”

The results

The final set of images gave RHF Fans a comprehensive library of photography that they could use across their website, brochures, and client presentations.

The photography showcased:

  • The end-to-end manufacturing journey.
  • The skills of their workforce, bringing a human element to heavy industry.
  • The quality and scale of their machinery and facilities.

Feedback from the RHF team was extremely positive, particularly in how the images reflected both the strength of their engineering and the pride of their people.

Industrial Photography

Projects like this highlight the power of photography to tell the story of complex processes in a clear, visual way. For industrial and manufacturing businesses, strong imagery isn’t just about machines — it’s about showing expertise, dedication, and the people who make it all happen.
