View from Higger Tor across Hope Valley, Landscape Photograph

This Higger Tor photo shows the view across Hope Valley. It features a gritstone hill near Hathersage in the Peak District.

The scene includes rolling farmland, scattered trees and distant hills. Additionally, the area is popular with walkers and climbers. It offers wide views without requiring a long hike to the top.

Higger Tor sits on the edge of the Burbage Moors, close to Carl Wark – an Iron Age hill fort. Together, they form a striking part of the Eastern Edges. From this spot, you can see much of the central Peak District, especially on clear days like the one in this photo.

The light is soft and even, helping to show the shapes in the land without strong shadows. Dry stone walls divide the fields and trees scatter across the valley floor, adding detail and depth.

Although Higger Tor is easy to reach by road, it still feels remote. This is mainly due to its open views and the surrounding moorland. Overall, this Higger Tor photo captures the balance of natural beauty and wide open space. It shows the landscape as it is – without the need for dramatic lighting or effects.

Product materials

Paul’s prints use media from the prestigious digital giclee paper manufacturer, Innova Art. Their acid-free, museum-quality paper boasts a natural white finish and a soft textured surface, reminiscent of traditional etching papers. Moreover, this paper is an ArtSure™ Approved Material, guaranteeing its archival quality. His canvas prints, too, are produced in-house on InnovaArt’s 100% cotton woven canvas surface with a water-resistant coating, ideal for Fine Art and Photographic Open Edition Prints.
