Today's landscape photograph of the week is a throwback to 2012. A summer’s day spent walking the impressive Ingleton Waterfalls Trail which starts on the southwest border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

was taking the picturesque route back from Harrogate late last October and I thought it would be great to stop off at Bolton Abbey and try and catch the sunset. I had my view planned and my timings sorted and was really looking forward to it.

Mine is autumn. It's a close call but just pips springtime as my favourite time of the year. Maybe this is down to the conditions these two season conjure up. They are especially kind to us landscape photographers. The later sunrises, and earlier sunset, the lower angle off the sun making for stunning golden hours. Inversions in valleys. Wow, its just a wonderful time. Assuming the weather is on out side at least. So as we have moved into Autumn I thought I would share an older image for today’s landscape photograph of the week.

I took a trip over the the east coast of Yorkshire last week to see my parent's who were very kindly having two of my three children in their caravan for a few days. Anyway, on the way there I spotted this gorgeous poppy field and I promised myself I would stop off on the way home if the weather was being kind.
