Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by artist Antony Gormley. Now permanently erected on Crosby beach just north of Liverpool, it consists of 100 cast iron sculptures of the artist's own body, facing towards the Irish sea. One of the great things about photographing such a popular location is that the landscape is forever changing because of the strong tidal currents that surge along Crosby from the Mersey Estuary. In this today's landscape photograph of the week I concentrated on the old waste pipe structure (now mostly derelict) as a reminder of what was here rather than the sculptures themselves. A long exposure on very wet sand and a rather windy day proved challenging but I was pleased with the results.
